Post-workout Protein Shake

Protein shake ingredients and amounts for my post-workout shake. I make and drink this within minutes after finishing a bodyweight, resistance training and/or weightlifting workout.

Step 1: ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST if you should be eating ANY of the below items! You could be allergic and break out in hives or die! Seriously, check with your doctor FIRST!

Step 2: Blend protein shake ingredients in NutriBullet blender for 1 minute

  • Water: 8 oz
  • Oats (Quaker Oats brand): 2 oz
  • Almond Butter (Justin’s brand, Classic flavor): 2 Tablespoons
  • Protein Powder (Muscle Milk brand, Lean Muscle Protein Powder, Chocolate): 1 scoop
  • Walnuts: handful (~9)
  • Milk (Organic Valley brand, Organic, Lactose-free, 2% Fat): 8 oz
  • Blueberries: handful (~12-18)
  • Ginger (root): ~3-4 slices
  • Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg’s Organic brand): 1 teaspoon

Protein yield: ~35g

Step 2: Take the following items orally with post-workout shake

  • Cod Liver Oil (Nordic Naturals brand): 1 teaspoon
  • Multi-Vitamin & Mineral Supplement (Source of Life brand): 3 tablets
  • Garlic (Kyolic brand, Aged Garlic Extract, Formula 100): 2 capsules
  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA), 100 mg: 2 tablets
