Startup Weekend Sacramento Kicks Off at Hacker Lab
Startup Weekend Sacramento kicked off this evening, April 5, 2013, with a jam-packed crowd at Hacker Lab. Forty-five+ entrepreneurs spent 15 minutes preparing their pitches, then each spent 60 seconds pitching their idea. Top ideas were then voted on.
Entrepreneurs then had to form teams with who they thought were the best developers, designers and marketers available in the audience. Everybody’s basically getting “married” for the next 54 hours. One of the early presenters, after pitching his idea, taped his letter-sized pitch sheet (which read: “DIY Video Content”) to the brush-end of a broom and held it up for the rest of the pitching portion of the evening. I liked his idea of keeping his pitch title in the eyes and minds of the developers, designers and marketers in the audience for the longest period of time.
Startup Weekend Sacramento continues for the next 2 days at Hacker Lab. Pretty excited to see who makes it out the other end as a winner on Sunday evening.
